I was at the edge of my seat seeing the protagonists fight a literal army so that they could stop a genocidal murderer known for causing chaos.Īnd even with all these triumphs, it may never get a second season. The animation, the aesthetics, and the general atmosphere makes you tend to root for the characters even more. It’s also easy to understand most of the antagonist characters because they get power from the game, and they are attached to that power.Īnother great thing that contributes to its great story is the world building of both the real world in 2046 and the accelerated world. There are also many good characters in accel world, but I’ll try to keep this not too long. She’s a person that has a hard time moving on, and that’s something I can personally relate to! It’s why I love Chiyu as a character.

Her avatar has the ability to turn back time, and part of its name is “bell,” which is very associated with time. She even says “Things can go back to the way things were” meaning that she wants her two best friends to be close to her, and she doesn’t want them to drift apart. Green duel Avatars are apparently created from people who’s main motivation is to “protect those close to you.” And, eventually, it’s made abundantly clear that Chiyu wants her two friends (Taku and Haru) to remain close to her, and there’s so much foreshadowing to it, like in one of the first episodes when she confronts Kuroyukihime as to how she’s treating Haru.

For example, Chiyu’s avatar, Lime Bell, made so much sense. Its core concept alone of the avatars being based on the users personality was something that instantly let us understand and relate to the characters.

I just feel like I need to get this out why doesn’t accel world have a second season?!įor one thing, it was an amazing anime.
